When this report was being written the latest release of Fedora Core available was Fedora Core 6.
Choosing Fedora Core
Choosing the Linux distribution to use was always going to be a controversial decision.
Fedora Core 6 was chosen because it is widely used, recent, well supported and provides RPM packages for most of the applications tested here.

Installation
Using the GUI installer, we select the smallest set of packages and only add openssh for remote maintenance.
