database performance: test setup: Introduction
These pages describe the steps taken to ensure the fairness of the performance tests.
Although these tests are not designed to be a simulation of real life database usage,
the results do show what general performance characteristics can be expected from each system: their weaknesses and their strengths.
The setup chapter is also quite useful for those who want to evaluate a new database using JDBC.
All the code used for obtaining these results is available for free under the GPL. (see appendix)
Running the tests is well documented.
